The Society for Contemporary Art is pleased to announce its first ever live, virtual Annual Meeting and Acquisition Vote. The production of this event is generously supported by Christie’s.

By joining this virtual event, SCA members will have the opportunity to listen to curatorial presentations on five acquisition finalists and select one of the proposed works to be acquired for the Art Institute’s permanent collection, as well as vote on the Board of Directors slate for 2020-21.

Visit www.scaacquisition2020.com which has essential information about each of the five artworks being considered, including images, text on the works authored by the curators, and supplementary resources related to the works under consideration. During the temporary closure of the Art Institute of Chicago as a result of COVID-19, reviewing this digital information will take the place of viewing the work in-person in the museum’s galleries, a necessary step in the voting process.

Further details on how to join the virtual meeting and voting instructions will be distributed to registered members in the coming weeks. Absentee ballots may be requested by emailing the SCA.

Please be aware that you must be a member in good standing to vote. If you need to renew your membership before June 10, please do so online at https://scaaic.org/membership/. If you have questions regarding your membership status, please email info @ scaaic.org.
