The SCA Board is pleased to announce that this year’s Annual Meeting will take place on May 5, 2022 at the Arts Club of Chicago. Members are invited to listen to presentations, vote on the 2022-23 Board of Directors, as well as the allocation of this year’s SCA Engagement Fund. The meeting will be followed by a celebratory dinner.
As shared in the SCA’s Members Bulletin in January, continued challenges of the pandemic hindered our traditional committee-led acquisition process this season, limiting opportunities for in-person meetings and travel to view artwork. Given these factors and in an effort to best support the department of Modern and Contemporary Art, the SCA Board opted instead for a membership-wide vote on supporting a special project proposed by the department.
We are pleased to now announce that Ann Goldstein, Deputy Director, Chair and Dittmer Curator, will be presenting three proposals for members’ consideration. Our general membership will vote and select one project to support under the SCA Engagement Fund. The evening will also include a special guest presentation by art historian Darby English, Carl Darling Buck Professor of Art History at the University of Chicago, who will be presenting on the significance of the SCA’s historical acquisitions to the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Further information and the 2022-23 Board of Directors slate to be announced soon.
Please be aware that you must be a member in good standing to vote. Couples that share a membership may elect to split their membership vote. Absentee ballots will be available by request. Should you have any questions, please contact the SCA Office at: email@example.com.
