Tim Blum, Sadie Coles, and Barbara Gladstone

The Society for Contemporary Art Invites you to join us for a panel discussion on The State of the Art Market Tuesday, April 16th 5:30-8:00. Our guests for the evening will be three prominent art dealers: Barbara Gladstone from New York, Tim Blum from L.A. and Sadie Coles from London, moderated by our own James Rondeau, Associate Curator of Contemporary Art. Barbara Gladstone Gallery, established in 1980, specializes in contemporary art and represents 23 artists who work in a variety of media, including photography, video, film, installation, painting, and sculpture. The diverse group of represented artists include Shirin Neshat, Matthew Barney, Richard Prince, Lari Pittman, Vito Acconci, Mario Merz, Anish Kapoor, Stephan Balkenhol. Tim Blum co-founded Blum & Poe in 1994. Blum & Poe represents 15 artists who work in all media. The gallery has an emphasis on collaborating with their artists to produce large-scale film, video and sculptural projects. Artists represent include Sam Durant, Anya Gallaccio, Sharon Lockhart, Dave Muller, Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara, Hirsch Perlman, Dirk Skreber. The gallery also works project to project with Paul McCarthy. Sadie Coles HQ opened in London’s West End in 1997 with a show of paintings by American artist John Currin and sculpture by British artist Sarah Lucas. The gallery quickly established an international program of young European and American artists including: Andrea Zittel, Udo Rondinone, Angus Fairhurst and Hellen van Meene.
