Dennis Adrian

Dennis Adrian was born in Astoria, Oregon in 1937. He studied at the University of Chicago from 1952 to 1959, and the Institute of Fine Art, New York University, from 1959 to 1960. From 1955 to 1959, Mr. Adrian worked for the Allan Frumkin Gallery in Chicago; he managed the Allan Frumkin Gallery in New York from 1959 to 1965. Mr. Adrian taught Art History at both the Philadelphia College of Art, 1965 to 1967, and Roosevelt University in Chicago, 1967 to 1969. In addition to writing various magazine articles and exhibition catalogues, Mr. Adrian wrote Art Criticism in ArtForum from 1964 to 1967. He is presently Assistant Curator of Prints and Drawings, The Art Institute of Chicago. The title of Mr. Adrian’s talk is “The Role of Modern Prints & Drawings and the Art Institute Collections”.
