Patron Luncheon 2008

The Society for Contemporary Art invites you to the annual Patron Luncheon, which recognizes the special commitment and generosity of Patron members and gives our Board an opportunity to thank you for your extraordinary support during the past year. This year we will have a special “hard hat” tour of the new Modern Wing presently under construction and designed by Renzo Piano and enjoy a presentation describing the reinstallation of the contemporary galleries by Curator and Chair of the Department of Contemporary Art, James Rondeau. Scheduled to open in May of 2009, the Modern Wing will dramatically transform the Art Institute, increasing the gallery space by 33 percent, enabling never before seen work to be installed in our permanent collection galleries, and opening the museum’s interior to views of the downtown Chicago skyline and Millennium Park. Following our program we will enjoy lunch at The Chicago Yacht Club, located east of the Art Institute. This will be a great opportunity to continue our conversation with James Rondeau and Lisa Dorin and take in fabulous views of Lake Michigan. Please join us for what promises to be an engaging afternoon. Please note that all guests to the Modern Wing construction site must wear long sleeves, pants and flat-soled, closed-toe shoes. This event is free of charge. You must be a member in good standing to attend.
