A leader in the field of art preservation, the Conservation Center develops new treatments and methods to adapt to the rapidly changing art world. Center experts will be on hand to answer questions and guide you on a detailed tour of the laboratory, sharing tips about the display and maintenance of private collections and providing live conservation demonstrations. You’ll learn firsthand about the innovations in methods, materials, and technologies employed by the center to conserve heirlooms and artworks from around the nation.
As the largest and most comprehensive private art conservation laboratory in the country, the Conservation Center offers a range of unique services. Its 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, designed by Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects, is home to more than 30 conservators and staff members. Primary areas of expertise include antiques, fine furniture, frames, gilding, murals, objects, paintings, photographs, rare books, textiles, and works of art on paper. The center offers specialty services in framing and display, digital restoration, disaster response, collection assessment, transportation, and installation. It is also home to a full-service warehouse and art storage space.
