Although drawing has been Dunham’s principal vehicle of artistic expression over the past five decades, he has never tired of testing its formal, material, optical, and intellectual possibilities.
Organized in conversation with the artist, Carroll Dunham: Drawings, 1974–2024 presents a comprehensive survey of the interrelated archive of work that has emerged from his process-based practice.
Join the artist and curator Thea Liberty Nichols for a discussion about this unprecedented show, the first museum presentation focused exclusively on Dunham’s drawings.
Support for this program is provided by the Allan McNab Endowed Fund.
This conversation is presented in partnership with the Art Institute of Chicago.
