John Knight has long been attuned to the ideologies of the built environment, a quality showcased wonderfully in his upcoming exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago, John Knight: A work in situ curated by Giampaolo Bianconi.

John Knight creates projects in situ, which are the result of careful observation of specific sites, and ex situ, which bring references to other places into the exhibition space. Whether in situ or ex situ, Knight’s works are context dependent, crystalizing the social, political, and economic forces that structure our built environment.

Join your fellow SCA members for an artist talk where John Knight will give a lecture and share additional insights on his work. SCA members are open to engage with the exhibition more intimately and convene in the Bluhm Terrace afterwards with wine and small bites.

This public program is made possible with the support of Stephanie Skestos Gabriele and Jim Gabriele.
